From the moment Julie Gayet’s character Émilie appeared on screen with her perfect chignon, khaki trench coat, and Hermes Birkin bag I was nudging my fellow movie goer in excitement. Great clothes, fabulous looking French people, and a cute apartment make all the difference in a film that carries on a bit and has a quirky plot only plausable in French cinema.
