Birkin Blog Asks

Birkin Blog Says | Sharon Stone's A. D. M. J. Bag

Sharon Stone was spotted carrying an A. D. M. J. bag after shopping in Beverly Hills on Wednesday afternoon (August 5, 2009).

Below, I listed a Birkin bag (top) and an A. D. M. J. bag (bottom) to show you how similar they look like. A. D. M. J. is a Japanese company that was established in 1989 which makes bags that look like HERMES Birkin Bags. What do you think? Do you like the bags? Or you think they totally copy Birkin bags?

  1. I don't like it at all. Hermes is classic and should stand alone. I would never carry that bag, it says "cheap rip off" to me.

What is the price difference betweent the two, anyone know?

  3. Hi Shawn,

Do you enjoy your Birkin bag? The ADMJ bags retail between $4-500.00USD.

  4. Hi MBB!

I'm having a blast taking "her" all over town. I find myself asking for a booth or a 3rd chair so she won't have to sit on the floor!

I've not yet had to deal with a public restroom, but I'm sure she will be in my lap!

I've had total strangers ask me "how" I got my Birkin (the wait list in my city is closed) & one woman actually asked me if I would consider selling it to her for way over the retail price!

I had no idea people would do that!

After 7 years of waiting there is NO amount of money that would convince me to part with her.

  5. has Hermes registered patent for the design?
if not, then this is a moral issue of intellectual property which we know still have uneven appropriate treatment in different places in the world.

aside from the matter, the design itself is highly versatile and universal - IMO could be somewhere unknown of Hermes might get the 'collective unconsciousness' of the design, hehehe.....

    Shawn,
    have you known Marco Tagliaferri?
what do you think of it?

If I offered the chance to own an authentic birkin and A.D.M.J and a Marco Tagliaferri, I'd take 'em all.
Birkin to bring when I don't mind extra care to baby her,
A.D.M.J to go clubbing and sailing to beach,
Marco Tagliaferri to my daily hop on commuting bus to workplace, a mining rig.

  6. Here here Pauline! Agreed. I've been doing some searches and found that ADMJ has alot of celebrity fans besides Sharon Stone, such as Nicky Hilton, and others. Well, i work in watches, and i sometimes think that just because a brand isn't the first to do wrist watches, doesn't make all wrist watches knock offs. I am told ADMJ is huge is japan, and the quality is very high (not at all shabby) and looks tight. Their webiste says it's all handmade by japanese craftsmen, so i guess on good intellectual property ground. I found it fun and a sharp addition to Sharon Stone's relaxed look.

  7. I was just in Hong Kong and saw everyone carrying a birkin. Their second hand bag shops are stocked full of them. Now i know why any one in the US had to wait, they've all gone to rich Chinamen and their mistresses. Have to say, the waiting list is by far the most clever marketing ploy to make the same design of item demanded by so many. I mean if apple just kept selling macintoshes without improvement, would anybody really want them? But then i guess we women are after the status symbol afterall.
