ReplyDeleteI got it from a reputable Hermes re-seller in the US. She's based in San Francisco. I had to fork out quite a hefty sum and on top of that I had to pay custom duty when it arrived via FedEx in Kuala Lumpur. However, I'm very pleased with the bag cos Vache Ardennes is such a great leather. It's scratchproof, structured and lightweight too! Wonder why Hermes discontinued the leather. I used to own a 40cm in Fjord leather which was so heavy that I decided to let it go.
My new pre-owned Birkin has a G stamp which makes it Year 2005 if I'm not wrong. Or, is it Year 2006? Can't remember now. Anyway, I think Hermes stopped making bags in Vache Ardennes around that same year. It has since then been replaced with Vache Liegee, another leather type which is durable and lightweight. But Vache Liegee has a slight sheen to it compared to other leather types.
By the way, would you by any chance live in KL too? Your "name" sounds familiar.
